The Mashup: Checking Receipts at The Intersection

It’s been a minute I know, but like we’ve all watched the news right? The Corona Virus has rocked many of our lives, but I did want to share this episode and let y’all know, this may be the last episode for a bit. I don’t know how long a bit is, to be honest. In the meantime, I did want to give you one parting episode and guess what, it’s all about great music and two great shows that you can watch during this time of social distancing. Also, it’s with one of my favorite people and podcast host, Christina Utley. Christina runs a podcast called Recaps and Receipts all about the first episodes of tv shows you should be watching.

The Photograph and Our Legacy

We made it to episode 30! This week we’re back with a little review of The Photograph, but also how photographs and tangible memories tell stories that shape a legacy. My guest this week is, at this point a regular, Brittany Bellinger. We really go in-depth about our own attachments to tangible memories and storytelling, so this is one you don’t want to miss. If you haven’t seen the movie and you don’t want spoilers you should skip from about minute 20 to minute 50. Enjoy!

The Speed of Success

This week I’m hanging with my guy Ish aka Ish, Ya Cousin, the Brooklyn rapper. I loved this conversation because Ish is one of the most brilliant people We talk about balance, what it means to seek success in life, how he feels as an artist in the current landscape of hip-hop, and how he thinks of Stevie Wonder and Lil’ Wayne as virtual mentors.

Strategy of Art

This week I sit down with my friend Clarence and talk about all things creativity and art. Clarence is an art dealer, creative strategist and is even about to make his own zine, which may or may not feature ya girl. I’ve known him now for almost 10 years and worked with him on some of his creative ventures. He’s brilliant, trust me. You will really enjoy this talk all about his creative process with artists and how he even entered into this industry.

The State of Hip-Hop

This week I got to sit down with the homie Rafael and talk about one of our favorite things, hip-hop. I’ve debated this dude and trust me he knows his stuff. We got into it about Kanye, the Big 3 (Drake, Kendrick, and J. Cole), and the new school. I hope you enjoy!

This week on The Intersection I am giving you part 2 of my conversation with two of my favorite women, Brittany Bellinger and Whitley Jackson, MFT to talk about the Andre 3000 and Rick Rubin episode on the Broken Record Podcast. I hope you enjoy!

Broken Record Pt. 1

This week on The Intersection I hang out with two of my favorite women, Brittany Bellinger and Whitley Jackson, MFT to talk about the Andre 3000 and Rick Rubin episode on the Broken Record Podcast, I know that’s meta. For all of us, it was a very interesting conversation about creativity, mental health, and the state of the culture.
